FOWLED OUT
I've eated so much chicken lately, that I've had it up to my eyebrows in fowl. Just today I had a left-over chicken breast for breakfast, and a chicken taco salad for lunch. Enough!
Since it's rainy and cold, I've decided to indulge TGG and I in beef tonight. In the oven we have Beef Bourguignon simmering away, soon to be ready to enjoy with some crusty baguette and a glass of red. I love to make this savory stew, do you know why? Well, let me tell you.
The obvious reason is because you put in an entire bottle of Pinot Noir - YUM! But the real reason is because I put in about a half a cup of cognac while it's simmering on the stove, and then LIGHT IT, and VOILA! Instant excitement as the pot is on fire with a flame soaring up to the ceiling while the alcohol burns off! YIPPEE!
I learned all of my pyrotechnical skills from the I/O, and boy do they come in handy. Chicken Schmicken. Bring on the flaming Beef Bourguignon!!!
SNIFF
I am sitting at my computer, and there is a distinct smell of cheap suntan lotion wafting through the air. This is very curious, as we don't use or own suntan lotion. Hmmmm.
